What I watched last night…
Just by chance, I ran into a movie called Bolgia Totale (Total Bedlam 2014) on Amazon Prime, and hey, it turned out that the movie was fast paced, action filled and has a smart script. It’s a crime/ thriller/ drama with some decent acting and an engrossing plot.
A washed up, drunk and drug addled old cop named Cruciani (Giorgio Colangeli) has 3 days to find a criminal that escaped while he was watching him. Cruciani has messed up his life in every way possible, and is desperate to find the guy so that he can avoid getting fired six months before his retirement. With no leads, he gets lucky gets to work and is quickly on the trail of Michele, the criminal, who has his own problems and is scrambling to figure out a way to get out of trouble he’s in with some other bad guys.
Domenico Diele - Michele Loi, Giorgio Colangeli - Quinto Cruciani, Xhilda Lapardhaja - Zoe, Ivan Franěk - Felix, Gianmarco Tognazzi - Bonanza
I want to announce a very special giveaway!
I have four David Di Donatello (Italian Academy Awards) nominated movies to give away to four lucky readers. Remember, these movies are not available in the USA, and these DVDs are not for American DVD players, so you’ll need a region free player.
Guess what! I’m giving away one of those as well!
If you want to win these 4 movies, plus the DVD player to play these on (and all other Italian movies), here’s what you need to do:
1)Write, in 300 words or less, “My favorite Italian movie that has been made since the year 2000, and why I love it!”
2)Submit your entry by April 30, 2022.
3)One entry per reader
4)I will select my favorite 3, and then we’ll all vote on the winner!
5) Send your entry to iloveitalianmovies@gmail.com
Can we talk about how outstanding Season 3 of L’Amica Geniale (My Brilliant Friend) was?
I think that I enjoyed, and was touched by season 3 more than anything I’ve watched in years. All of the seasons have proven to be brilliant interpretations of the popular Elena Ferrante, but season 3 is incredibly powerful. If you don’t have HBO Max, GOOD NEWS, you can now…
The movie is spot on with the era: the clothes, the issues, the culture. It is absolutely beautiful.
Send me those essays! I can’t wait to read them and pick a winner!
Un bacione 💋,
Cheri
